DaveH, would you recommend your kit for use in a 1st gen GS?

I think it would fit fine in a GS, but I've never actually mounted a kit in one to verify that all the clearances are fine.

What kind of HP will the daveh trubo support? When does it reach full boost? Still trying to decide between a swap and a trubo kit.

Mine might be closer to this than I thought. I did some fun runs with my bud (motorheadown) last night. He dynod at almost exactly 300 rwhp. Anyways he always won, but I was prolly only 1/2 - 1 car behind. Although on the freeway run he kept pulling when I let off.

Is Scott running on 4 cylinders? 300rwhp on an SP63 with all that stuff? I'd expect warp speed out of his ride when its dialed in. He should be able to meet Angel's numbers. I know he's got some unresolve issues before he can really release the hounds.

Unfortunately, it's back to the drawing board. Too much boost too soon and a fuel line burst in the tank toasted the motor. The compression in 4, 5, and 6 is way below spec, but at least it runs until I get another motor built up.

I was disapppointed in the numbers when I went to the dyno. A compression check verified the problem.

Damn Scott, sorry to hear that.. The funny thing is that I'm getting OBD2 codes for misfiring in 4,5,6...but my car still runs strong. Hopefully I don't blow anything..Good luck with the rebuild...If you ever need anything, don't hesitate to ask.

Scott, you didn't have a WB hooked up to the dyno or the car?

Yes, he's got a W/B.

Scott, I'd be very surprised if you toasted something on the bottom end. I had low compression on 4 and 5, and it turned out that a valve job tightened it right up. Perhaps you toasted a few valve seats and just need the top redone. A leakdown would confirm that. IMHO unless you do something really bad, the rings, piston / bottom end are the last to go, and typically would yield other obvious problems other than simple low compression, such as heavy smoke, noise, etc. Is the compression REALLY low or just around 130ish? As I said before, a weak link on this motor under abuse is the valves and seats--- they just can't handle the heat. Perhaps Ferrea valves would help in this area. Just thinking aloud here.

Scott, did dump a little oil in the cylinders and recheck compression to verify that its actually a cylinder, and not a valve problem?
