Introducing the Old guy
Hello everyone!
I'm new here, just got my son a 1994 SC 400. Its a very nice car and i look forward to the father and son time getting it running smooth and installing some of the popular mods i have seen done to them!motor
Im an somewhat familiar with the 1UZ motor as my wife has an LS 400 a few years back. with all that said is there anyone here that has a source for the computer or refurbishing them?

^^ Seconded. If you're having main ECU issues Tanin Auto are the people to call to arrange service for it. Commonly the capacitors can go bad in the SC300/400 computers which will cause them to malfunction in various ways. It is a good preventative maintenance practice at this point in time (given how old 1992-2000 SC's are now) to get the ECU capacitors replaced with new OEM supplier brand replacements with the exact same electrical values.
If you're already noticing issues related to a malfunctioning main ECU then it is time to get it serviced. Don't put it off in that case as this can run the risk of electrolytic fluid leaking from bad capacitors onto the circuit board traces which will cause damage to them. That damage can be repaired with wire trace repair work in some cases.
This is actually a very common phenomenon with all kinds of older electronics that were designed to use this style of capacitor.
Anyway give Tanin a call to request this service if you're noticing these issues. They no longer advertise ECU repairs for SC's on their website but you can call in and they'll evaluate each ECU repair request on a case by case basis now.
