Car's getting some body work done so I thought I might as well ask you guys what you thought so I can estimate how much i'm gonna be out.
1) when I put it in Drive or Reverse i) car jerks alittle
ii) reving sound without the RPMs incresing (at idle they are some
times if not always at 1X1000 then they fall halfway after amin or so)
2) reving sound again when I turn steering wheel either stopped or going very slow(changed the steering pump, gasket and serpentine belt jan 27' 00. Ialso did the number 4 service (the big gahuna) and changed the timing belt recently so i guess the power steering fluid is topped off. Even after the service it was doing that damn noise and when i asked my Lexus "advisor" he said "what noise? didn't notice any noise"
Is the jerking cause with the lower control arms/bushings or could they be caused by the differential or tranny?????
What's that noise i hear????
If it helps anyone my car has 200,400 kms on it.
whatever it is it's gonna be music to the dealers ears i think

1.> That's a large piece of automotive machinery that has now just changed direction, my 95 SC400 jerks slightly as well. Age is probably the culprit. Now that I think about my tranny also jerks ever so slightly while it is down shifting. Not until you posted this did I think anything was out of the norm.
2.> Sorry, can't help you on that one.

for the second one, i actually had the smae exact problem on my................1995 Ford Aerostar lol
all it was that the negative bettery wire was a little loose on the battery
its probably not the same, but you might as well check the bettery wire

The Jerking is probably the transmission mounts.
There's one more that I forgot to mention:
3) when idle or after stopped moving when you're outside of the car you can hear the engine just fine but after a couple of mins it's like someone turned down the volume ( i guess the RPMs decrease)
Jayson: it's not so much as it's downshifting when i'm on the road but if i go to back into a parking spot and i shif to "R" it jerks abit from the back..... When i put it to drive from park it jerks to the front a bit..
/aerostar/: Now that you mentioned about the battery i remember when it started doing this.... It was right after the battery died (defective from the dealership)
and got it replaced at the dealership.
Bizzy: I'm in Toronto and I have a friend that's a tranny mechanic maybe I should take it in to him and ask him to look at the mounts.
Now I don't want to ask the dealer to look at these things cause he'll tell me to replace something expensive even thought it might be something like the batery wire loose or something. So if anyone has any more ideas let me know

Alright, then im pretty sure its something electrical. i know it doesnt sounds like an electrical problem, but just check all the electrical connections in the engine
