Default Coil over spring length question.

Hi all,

I need a little help... I bought some new hyper coil springs to lower the spring rate of my BC BR's as I do not like the ride.
I went from a 14k / 10k to 10.7k / 7.1k the only problem is I bought a 7" spring and what was in there was actually an 8" spring.
I'm worried about coil bind and I'm trying to figure out if I have enough length in the spring.
I measured that the stroke I have total is 4.5" but with the bump stop on there I really only have 3.1"

The BC coilover only has 4.5" of total stroke and with the bump stop only 3.1" so I'm thinking a 7" spring should work.
