Went to the local mall. Saw 3 there. None have mods. A light green one (sorry guys, I have not idea what lexus calls this color) was driven by like a 70 year old grandma.

SC's are going to be blowing up soon... the used one's will be picked up by people to modify - turbo kits and/or 2jz-gte swaps. I have a 97 240SX (with an SR20DET engine) and I saw the same thing happen to the 240SX scene a few years ago.

I see plenty of SC in ATL... Most are driven by females in there late 20's early 30's... Or older. I always see these two 98+ Silver on black SC4's on my way to work.. I love the 97+ design. It's TIMELESS.
I see none at my school, none at my work, but plenty on the freeways, malls, and streets around where I live (southern california). The ones I do see are bone stock and driven by people in their late 40's and up. The SC isnt really known as a tuner car since the 5 speed is so rare and few people know how everything is interchangeable with the supras. Over the past year I only found on average one 5 speed a month in the autotrader. Im sure the popularity around here will blow up especially after D1 and all the upcoming drift events.

Well, there are not that many SCs period. The best year was 1992, 20,000 units sold and downhill after that. I see maybe 1 a week and hardly ANY hooked up besides some wheels.
The SC is a CLASSIC. Period. I love it.

Yes, I couldnt agree more. I think the SC400 and LS400 are the best two cars ever made... their both totally classic and so well built. The first generation of each (pre94) are the best because the engines were assembled almost completely by and and balanced at the factory that they would run smooth and silky forever, not just for a little while like other cars.
Someday I'll buy a really low mileage 90-93 LS400, white with grey bottom and add it to my fleet after I get it completely tuned up and replace anything cosmetic that appears worn...

Here in Utah, SC's are extremely rare. I think people must think that they would suck in the snow because they are rear wheel drive. Truth is, they aren't that bad- given the correct all season tires... AKA Michelin.
I never really cared for the SC too much, since I never really saw one in person- just pictures. I thought the back was too rounded. That all changed a year ago, when I saw somebody pull in to the parking space next to me with a nice looking green SC400. My jaw dropped, and I decided right then and there, that I HAD to own one. Two weeks later, I found a clean SC400 (in California). I drove her back, and have been extremely pleased with my purchase. I get tons of attention. People always think I'm driving a "2003" Lexus. Little do they know, my SC probably cost less than their mini-van, and is 10 times more reliable... not to mention fun to drive, etc.
