Hello fellow Lexus fans. I recently purchased my second 93 SC400 and after driving it a few months I am starting to experience an odd problem. Every once in a while, usually after stopping and starting the car every fourth or fifth time, I will drive a short distance I will feel the engine bog down noticeably and find my engine & traction on. I can then turn the key off while still in motion and turn it back on and the lights will clear and the car will drive fine. Sometimes I have to use this track 2 to 3 times before the engine light will stop coming on with the traction light. I only run shell premium high-octane and always make sure that I crank the gas cap on tight, as I am aware of that common issue. Something new that just started recent as I can go out and turn the key in the car will start quickly as it should and then some days I can go out and I’ll have to turn the key over five or six times before the engine with at night.
