newbie with a q...
Hi all. I`m a new sc400 owner and I have a question. I`ve done a search on the heater panel illumination and I`m still scratching my head. On my temp display, half of the lighting is dead. I`ve gathered that this is common. How many bulbs are behind the display, and does anyone have a good link on how to remove the center console trim in order to get to the heater display unit? Are these bulbs available from a local Toyota dealer.....or do I have to get them from a Lexus dealer? There are no Lexus dealers close to me but quite a few Toyota dealers nearby. Thanks in advance...

Very cool, I see that I can get hyper white bulbs put in....I read the entire thread and don`t see any contact information....any ideas on how I can get a hold of this guy? How do I get the center console bezel off? I don`t want to break anything....

Try flicking it! My bulb burned out and I told my friend, he said he would replace the bulb for me, but when he got in my car, he just flicked the display where the light was burned out, and it came back on! I dont know if this will work in your case, but it might, and it would save you some time, of course its not a true fix but just in case I think its worth a try.

lol, I already tried that. Believe me, if that would have worked, and it stayed working, I would have lived with it. But nontheless, it didn`t work, and I can`t stand having half of the display working. It makes it hard to see the temp reading when your driving at night.
