Default Bought a 1992 SC400

Found a 1992 SC400 with 105,xxx miles. Very clean original car, pearl white.

Just a couple things to do on it: power steering hose, from pump, is leaking, new tires, and rear struts/mounts need replaced. Time to get a little dirty and do some repairs

Looking forward to learning more on these cars. Owned a LX450 and currently own a FJ100. Can't beat Lexus quality.

Toyota products have always been pretty pleasant to work on, well designed. Looking up "how to's" on rear strut mount and strut replacement.

I bought my car in 2001 from Omaha. It had 99k miles. All the Camber bolts were frozen on the rear. I just replaced those arms/bolts. The car now has 163k miles. I have the upper A arms, but I'm going to wait a couple more years. The rear control arms/bolts were $1800. Almost the cost of a used car. I've done all the front control arms, so I got more in parts than my car is worth. Its a keeper anyway; unless it gets in an accident. Dropping the lower control arms sure make it easy replacing the rear shocks. You might as well get new rear strut mounts at the same time.

I've ordered shocks/struts and the mounts as well as a new power steering hose from the pump. Should get all that on Tuesday or Wednesday.

Thanks for the tips.

Looks great! Get that power steering leak rectified or your alternator will die in the next few months.

Looks like what mine did many years ago, before the modding begun. :-)
