Default Climate Control 92-00 (Different?)

I need to replace my climate control in my Soarer. I've some listing the climate control from 92-00, then some from 97-00. I was reading the revisions made to them throughout the years and the only change I found was 'Climate control system revised for CFC-free refrigerant' and 'Green to amber lights'. Can anyone confirm if they plugged in a 97+ into a 92-96 without any issues?

I tried one from a different year and it sort of worked but not fully. It was in my '94, but I don't recall what year it was from. When in doubt, stick to matching part numbers.

I believe 92-94 SC climate controls are compatible. 95+ will not work for older years. I have a 95 CC and tried to stick it in my 93 SC and it didn't work. If it's just the lights or LCD screen broken you can send it out to get replaced or fixed. Otherwise from what I know 95+ CC's are different parts numbers from 92-94. Funny thing though, I took the Climate Control face off the 95 which was still decent, and put it on my 93. Yes the faces actually swap and plugs in. Only problem is that when you go from cold to hot or vice versa sometimes the temperature doesn't switch. So I have to try it a couple times. Everything else works, but technically doesn't work properly. I've been rolling like this for years but Tanin Auto does the LCD and backlite for us so I'm finally going legit next year. BTW, you can't roll with your Center Dash console out while the CC is getting fixed. The turn signals won't work if the Hazard button isn't plugged back in.

1992-1993 climate is 100% identical to 1997-2000. The only funky ones are the 1994-1996 in which Lexus made the lighting "amber" instead of "white" like the other years.

I dealt with this a while back and put as much info as I learned in this thread.
