Hey whats up? I was driving through maybe a foot to 1.1 ft of water tops, then the car started to limp, still raining I got to my destination, and did what i had to do for about 3 hours. Turned the car on it felt fine, about a mile away, I couldnt rev past around 3k rpm. I noticed my air filter had some water in it, but it wasnt soaked. When I pulled over I noticed my cats red hot. My buddy said its running a very rich condition. '93 5 sp,no water in dist cap, cleaned it. Car never threw a service engine light yet. limped her back home a couple miles. Still idling rough,and lunging acceleration. Anything I should pull off and make sure it doesnt have water in it??

 

Sounds like your MAF was compromised at least...water in the air filter means water in the intake.

 

well started with the maf looked good. I then removed the rear spark plug boots and found a pool of water in the back. so i vacuumed it out. then blew it out with air. its still gross and oily and water drippy so I plan on doing plugs, wires and valve cover gasket next weekend and clean everything up. the cars power came back. idles much better but not perfect

 

Anyone got any ides which wires and what values i should get from the MAF at idle? i idle at 1000
