Should I buy?
Alright guys,
Need your advice.
I'm looking to buy a new Lexus 300SC from a local guy. Now is lexus is a 1995 SC500 with 186K. He is willing to give me the car at $6,500. The car has a scape along the front bumber otherwise the car interior and exterior looks good. The milage scares me, but then again its a Lexus and that is why I am considering it. Is this a good, great, average, price? what do you guys think?

SC500, that has a nice ring to it
Since you are in Wisconsin, you should check for body rust and use that as leverage in bargaining. A scrape is no biggie, give yourself a few months and you'll be splurging on a new body kit anyway
. Before you buy, have the car checked out with a few mechanics and make sure the car gets a clean bill of health

I agree with Lex400sc on the rust.
My feeling is....
95 SC300 = $13,000
186,000 miles is -30%
rust is -15%
bumper scars is -$750 each
...
With that said, I come to $6,400. However, $6,000 would be the deal I shoot for. You are going to need to do about $1000 worth of fix up and maintenance no matter what.

edit: if it has no rust....and in great condition...then $6,500 is a good deal.
