Default Weird never seen before cluster problem

Hello CL

since a few weeks i experience this weird cluster problem ,
after some time not used i started the car again and the backlights and needles didn't lit up but but the gauges are fully functional

the odo meter is going hay-wall with a sequence of numbers like the photo's below

i suspect a crack in the board or something , but after some research i'm clueless now
could be a plug could be anything
sometimes when i wiggle or slap the cluster it will come on

the weird thing is that i can't find a case when this problem is described before and even the most odd problems are documented on the web

its not easy to sent it to Tanin because i live overseas and a Canadian cluster is a rare thing with kilometers instead of miles

any ideas ?

CHRISTINNEEEEEE!!!!!!!
But seriously, that's pretty odd, at first I thought you just hit 444444 and wanted to mess with people lol

Maybe disconnect/reconnect battery, check grounds, pull cluster and check connections, or if possible pick up a used cluster from a junkyard to see if it's your cluster or just your wiring?

My 95's cluster when it's not properly connected will jump to 1500 RPM in the "on" position, a quick redo of the battery cables clears it right up. Can't help you too much besides that since I've never seen this happen..good luck though

i did pull the cluster and i have no clue what it could cause , checked the plugs ect
disconnecting the battery i haven't tried yet
a junkyard is out of the question , there are only a few around in Holland and most clusters are in miles instead of KM

thanks for your input

Maybe a cluster in miles would help you figure out if it is the wiring or cluster though? Just a thought. Post pictures of the board please. I'd like to take a look and see if I happen to see something you missed. A second look can't hurt it.

Hi, Tanin Auto Electronix here. It is difficult to diagnose clusters without first seeing them but given the issues that the cluster is demonstrating, we believe that you will most likely need a replacement.

You can contact us for pricing on a replacement cluster at your convenience. We are more than happy to help you out as soon as possible.

Thank you,
