Smile 10 years later...

Exactly 10 years later and about 95,000 miles later I still own my 1998 SC300. She hasn't let me down except for when I boosted her and ran into too many problems. Other than that, she has been good to me.
Here is a picture I took 10 years ago when I bought her and a picture I took today. Not much has changed but I like to keep things simple.

Club Lexus, thank you for all your help for the past 10 years. I don't post as much as I used to but I still visit all the time to see what's new.

Awesome that you're still around!

Sorry to hear you had issues with boost. I'd try again, it makes the car into a much different animal.

It was fun for a while, but then again I was running a piggy back set up which is why it didn't run right. I am focusing on a manual conversion at this moment then I will play with the turbo again.

Yea, that picture was taken with my old NOKIA phone. It was actually a really good camera for a cell phone at the time.

How about coming up on 24 years? One can get a lot of ideas and inspiration on this forum.

Here is a picture of the original sticker....... Acquired new summer of '92.

Glad to see you have been maintaining your SC . What piggy back are you using? A piggy back per se doesn't make a boosted car run like crap. A good piggy back that is set up or configured properly can get a boosted car run properly. The alphabet soup "HKS VPC / GCC piggy back" is all what these 500-900rwhp Supra were using back in the days when these newer aftermarket ECUs didn't exist. Even to this date there are good piggy backs like MAP ECUs and the like.

Duck, that's really cool that you've had your SC since day one. I'm coming up on 10 years of ownership on mine in a few months.

Any reason you put a body kit on it? Personally much prefer a stock body, and specifically always hated the Vertex knockoff kit because of the horrid and incorrect upper grille placement.

Wow.. never even noticed. Now it is giving me a headache. I like the kit still, but i never saw that.

Awesome paint color. Looks clean.

The car has been shared around with family members and when we got it back from our son it was worn down. This forum gave me much of the inspiration.

The body kit was added purely for cosmetic appeal; I deliberately went with a "lesser" front to start plus I liked the '97 style fog lights. I have an "AC" APTech bumper ready to be installed as soon as I get a schedule from the body shop.

It is definitely not the same car after installing coil overs and the larger stance of the wheels/tires. More fun to drive at the expense of ride comfort (but I have the LS430 for that...).

See! Us old guys know how to build cars also ! I'm looking to put a Kamarini (think I spelled that right)kit on mine which will keep the 96 nose, which I like. Has any one ever used their stuff before? I have collected quite the pile of parts for this car and will start on her as soon as spring decides to get here. I've only run mine 5 yrs and she had 169 k on her when I got it but now has 235 k on it . no problems but some suspension repair and a slide on the ice into a steel pole. Good thing I'm a body man. . Very nice cars guys and my granddaughter will drive mine to the prom in 18 yrs!

I was running an AEM FIC but being my SC is a 1998 with OBD2, it was having troubles. I am just going to get a stand alone and do it right when I put my turbo kit back in.

Your car reminds me of mine! I have a 98 dwp sc300 too, but I barely just passed 8 years of ownership.

Luckily there are 98+ Plug and play AEM EMS v2 kits available now. For the longest time I could never find one for the vvt-i SC.
