Can someone with more knowledge than me tell me if this is a brake proportioning valve or just a simple t-fitting? This is located in the rear of the car - 1 line is coming from the direction of the master cylinder and the other 2 lines go towards the rear brakes.

I went to AutoZone today to see if I can get this part to fix some corroded parts, and the person helping me says its a brake proportioning valve. I have been looking online for about an hour and can't find any parts matching for an SC300. Based on the level of corrosion for just the part and some of the lines right out of it, it looks to be a cheapo t-fitting that was put in by the previous owners years ago.

 

There is no prop valve on the SC300. Its all done in the ABS module.

That is the block/T that splits out to the two calipers in the rear.

I hope you're changing out those brake lines in the process. Those look a lot like mine and mine rusted through and failed 2 years ago.

Oh and a generic T from the local auto parts store works fine and costs just a few dollars.

 

Yes I do plan on changing out the brake lines. How were you able to run a new line from the master cylinder to the rear? Or did you just cut and make a new flare from the end after replacing the T?
