Default Front Lower Control Arm Stopper

1992 Lexus SC400

Does anyone know if the front LCA bushing stopper (48657-24020) is supposed to be used when reinstalling the LCA with Prothane bushings?

I know it is necessary when installing all OE, but I don't see how it is possible to fit it in. The front sleeve leaves about 1/8" maximum space, and the new bushing leaves -3/32" space. It took me a half hour to wedge the LCA in without the stopper.

I can add pics if needed, but I don't see any point in doing this since I am not looking for an explanation on how to reinstall LCA's with OE's. I think what is needed here is a comment from someone who has done this using the same product.

I left the stopper out every time I've used prothane LCA bushings. I haven't seen any negative effects from it.

I left them out on both cars, no issue.

I appreciate the feedback. I gave up trying to force the LCA in with the stopper. There is no way it would have gone in anyway.

Issue resolved.
