Default Found door pillar replacement.

Well, it's not a replacement, but I think it's a piece with adhesive on the backside.
It's from a company called bodydash.com. You can get them in three different materials: aluminum, brushed aluminum, and carbon fiber. They run 55 dollars for the pair.

I ordered real carbon fiber interior pieces, so I'll see how the quality is, and possibly post pics.

Thanks for the link. I think I saw a pic on this forum some time ago of carbon fiber on the pillars, and it looked pretty good. I hope yours turn out good, and please post pics since the manufacturers website only has a very lousy drawing. Also, does anyone have experience with this company regarding their dash kits?

I ordered the bodydash carbon fiber kit, and it just came in today. I was a little disappointed because I expected the panel to wrap around the rear edge of the door so that it would cover the entire painted area, but instead it is just two trapezoidal adhesive backed pieces. They look like carbon fiber covered with about a millimeter of clear urethane with rounded edges. Although they are not what I expected, they are quality pieces. At first, I thought that I wouldn't install them and instead proceed with my plan to paint the panels myself. However, after a couple of test fits, I think it's going to look okay. I'm still going to have to touch up the edges to make it look good, but there is one advantage: The urethane makes me more comfortable using that panel to close the door. Of course, that's how the panel got all hacked up to begin with.

I'm going to tackle this tomorrow because it's starting to rain. I'll try to post some pics if I can get the camera from work. For those of you considering this, it won't be a stock look and on close examination, you can tell it's an add on part. If I were determined to fix this correctly, I would take it to a good body shop and pony up the cash. However, my car's a daily driver in Atlanta and I can't afford the down time to take it in. Also, I can't sweat every door ding and rock chip in this driving environment. It would make you crazy.

Why don't you just buy some carbon fiber adhesive stuff online and but out what you need and put it on? Ebay #2413800309. Cheap stuff... just my thoughts, would 15" x 24" work? I think it should?

If I were looking to put real effort into this repair, I would go for what I know how to do which is paint the piece. I've already ordered the correct paint from paintscratch.com, and I used to spray cars in high school so I'm confident I could do a decent job. However, the prep work necessary to do that right would take a lot of time and I'm working out in the parking lot of my apartment complex. I'm looking for something easy. Besides, if I decide I don't like it, a few minutes with a utility knife will take it off and I can still spray it.

Theres a BIG differrence between Carbon Fiber,Carbon Fiber 'look' and Carbon Fiber Look Vinyl.

This is a pic. from a Nissan 240sx project showing the differrence between the three.
Just so you'll know what you're buying or why one cost more than the other.

FYI: CF Look and Vinyls do not have the depth of real CF
