Default Turn signal activates hazards

Hey I did a search but couldn't come up with a solution. Signalling left or right makes both come on (hazards). I checked all fuses and all bulbs are working.

Has it always been like this? Are you sure you put the right bulbs in? Double check at Sylvania.com

Dude,

In other non-Toyota vehicles, that's a sign that the hazard relay is bad and needs to be replaced. It's usually a part of the hazard switch.

Good luck

Still having this problem. Got a new flasher relay which changed nothing. The hazard switch is good. Sometimes they will work normally for a while, then the next day they don't. What else could cause this?

More than likely, due to the age of our cars, the wires can become exposed from the rubber surrounding the copper. Does the emergency flasher button light up? It might not be in the button but the turn signal switch.

Still haven't figured this out. A guy on lexusownersclub says corroded taillight sockets caused this problem, but I disconnected the tail lights and the problem is still there, so shouldn't that mean the taillights are not the issue? I am thinking maybe it is the combination switch but am not sure how I can test it to see if that's the problem?
