I found this loose wire (white) behind the rear left passenger panel. Traced it all the way back to this orange thing. Does anyone know what this is for? I'm trying to figure out why the airbag light stays on. It started happening after I replaced the seatbelt and retractor.

weird, just remove it and take it apart. but yeah maybe a crash data recording, I know new cars have it. maybe Lexus had a test sample?

You guys might be right. The National Highway Traffic Safety mandated these EDR (Event Data Recorder) devices back in 2005. Data from the recorders is used by law enforcement and attorneys to recreate events directly leading up to an accident.
