Default Starter issues..... I think

94 sc400 170k
Went to start the car today car started up fine but starter continued to spin turned car off and it kept running. Removed efi fuse and motor stopped running but continues to rotate. Once i disconnected both battery terminals it finally stopped completely. Wth is going on? Starter seems pretty new as it normally starts after 3-4 bumps. I'm two days away from purchasing new wheels. I don't want to have to replace the starter and IM gaskets. Any ideas?

Never seen any tricks if alt and battery are good. The 3-4 bumps is not normal. All of my Sc's have always started on the first try. When it's time, its time brother....

Apologies... I meant 3-4 bumps/turns of the starter not the key lol. I guess 3-4 seconds of the starter spinning is more accurate lol. Any links of getting this tackled?

Get OEM or rebuild yours with $10 or so OEM rebuild kit. It will last another 20 years. Take your time, label, take pics and get ready to curse at Toyota engineers when you try to get the starter bolts out. Lextreme will guide you through it..

When the time comes for me, I will have to pay! You are lucky to have the place, skills and time to pull it off!

Go dig in man! (once you verify that is the problem).
