Default Swapped your interior? I need your advice

I just bought scrap 1995 sc400 with a black interior that's complete and in very good shape. I'm going to begin swapping interiors tonight and I'd appreciate any tips, tricks or things to watch out for.

On a side note I'll have a black 1995 sc400 without an interior if anyone's interested along with an almost complete tan interior out of a 94 sc300.

only recommend to take your time with it. Last thing you want is breaking something i.e door panels, rear speaker trim etc.. gl with the interior swap

I managed to get all but the headliner tore out of my donor sc today, I'm just wondering how some of you have managed to piece together black interiors? After taking an entire interior apart I'm amazed at the number of parts, and almost every one is color specific. For those of you who pieced together your interior, how many tan parts are left or did you paint all the ones you couldn't find? How much did you spend on it all?

I know I got a pretty good deal on my donor car at $350, but how good of a deal?

That's a pretty good deal depending on the condition of the interior. Door panels alone go anywhere from $50-$250 depending on the condition and the seller (gouger). If you look up some of the parts as new from a Lexus dealer, they are in the $1000 range new. Like carpet for example (which I am still trying to find in black if anyone has any) :-) Good luck witght he swap and enjoy it!

Haha, very true.

I'm still a little bewildered that a black manual sc300 that I wasn't even looking for falls into my lap, and within a week someone posts an ad on Craigslist for a parts car with a clean black interior for just above scrap value. It's like the universe is working in my favor for once. (...knocks on wood)

I am genuinely curious if I got an unusual deal or if unsuspecting people get rid of these for that kind of price with some frequency. The car did have minor front end damage and a hydrolocked engine, so it's not like I got a drivable car for $350.

There's another $350 dollar sc for sale on Craigslist in my area also, I may look at it tomorrow just to see what it's like.

Nope, that piece was broke on my car. All of my tan interior parts are in the back of a truck waiting to go to the landfill on Monday. If anyone local to Lansing, MI would like to any of the tan parts you can have it if you take all of it. The only parts that I think might be of interest to someone is the passenger side upper window trim, back seat, airbags and an automatic cluster with all the needles working.
