Sc400 wiring harness woes, any ideas?
Ok so I bought a 96 sc400 on the cheap because of it having a super straight body, how ever the motor had a rod through it. The previous owners had tried to remove the motor but couldn't figure out what else was holding it in place I should have walked away then.
So almost every connector had crumbled on the harness, I bought a motor with just under 100k on it from Lonestar imports in Houston, had a Ls400 harness and even it crumbled when I took the connectors loose, even with the connector removal tool (waste of money in this case).
I've contacted Lexus, they told me they can't get anything I need, also tried http://www.aeromotive.us/wanted/index.html they told they could get me some of my connectors but not all of them.
So I'm hoping maybe some of you other sc400 guys might have hit the same problem and know of some source of these parts, if not I think I'm going to have to part out this poor little car.

Drift Motion carries some of the connectors, but you'll still spend a lot of time searching for all the others.
In my experience, Toyota used extremely low quality plastics throughout these cars. Example 1: When I replaced my fuel injectors, all eight clips snapped off at the lightest press of the tabs. I've replaced fuel injectors twice on my other car that is only one year newer and haven't broken a connector yet. Example 2: I went through multiple IAC valves in search of a mint one, but all of them had a crack in the same place on the plastic housing. Example 3: I pulled a dry rotted hose off the bottom of the EGR vacuum modulator while replacing all the old vacuum hoses, the barb basically turned to dust. Looking at it, I was startled to see air pockets throughout the plastic. I've seen the same thing with uber cheap Harbor Freight tools when they break.
I could keep going for hours... The point is, I wouldn't count on finding old wiring parts in good enough shape to be worth the trouble of removing and splicing. Just keep searching out the connectors you need and be patient. Maybe see if the places you're buying available ones from can look up part numbers on the ones they don't carry, to help in locating them elsewhere.

Yeah, I had given it some thought, I know I can probably get them from various places over a slightly more extended time frame, I guess like many others I really just wanted to get the car running quickly and start doing some mods.
Would anyone be able to point me in the direction of a FSM, I've searched but haven't found one still available, I may have missed it if there is one on this site.

Might looking into what I can delete from the harness such as anything for the emissions to clean it up. I've also heard that I can find a lot of the same plugs and such on newer toyotas and lexus (Lexi?) at the salvage yards, gonna go give that a shot today. Can't wait for school to be out so I don't have to schedule my day around 7:30 and 3:30.
