Hello everyone. I've been lurking here since I bought my 93 sc4 but never posted or anything. I've used this forum alot to gain knowledge on my new love affair.
I've only ever owned manual vehicles before. I absolutely hate driving automatics.
I love my sc though. It has become my new favorite "affordable" car. (when I say affordable I mean the MKIV supra is my favorite but gat damn I cant afford one.) The only thing I do not like about my SC is it's cursed lack of manual transmission.
I'm kind of ballin on a budget, so all of my car mods come very very slowly. This is also the first car I am going to actively work on myself and with the help of step father/friends.
With that being said I was browsing the forums and came across a post from the user "xtra" regarding his 240sx KA trans swap onto his sc4. It was then I decided to give my land shark the one thing I want for it.
With that being said, I have sourced most everything, but I have never done a auto to manual trans swap, I have only replaced manual trans so everything needed for it was already there.
I have a list of things sourced that I will need to do it so far, and my question to you guys is what parts am I missing to complete the list and do the swap.
What I have so far:
Trans (clutch/flywheel)
Pedal Assembly
Master cylinder
Brett collins adapter
trans mount
drive shaft with adapter
So what else am I missing?

Shifter bezel and shifter/**** if not included with your tranny. Not sure if there's anything else.
I thought I read recently that the 240SX tranny's limits are pushed by the SC400's power level?

I doubt the sc4 will "push it to the limit" The ka tranny isn't brittle and the stock 1uz isn't exactly a monster. And if it does push it and blows it, then i'm only out 100 bucks on the tranny.

the 240sx box is pretty stout. it will take regular 1uz abuse in stock form.
they are strong enough to run turbo SR motors. not as strong as the Z32 box, but pretty strong.
