yea if something ever happens to them again, i'll be redoing them and adding more lights. hopefully that doesn't happen and they last forever, i hate opening lights, it's a little easier with black silicon though. great thing about rear lights though, they don't condensate as much as the fronts because there is no heat, so hopefully they stay clear.

here's an update on the turn signals!!! also, i'm getting started on another set, some 97s this time, i'll be making some clear lenses for them, or trying to.

update!!! got pulled over today, officer said he didn't see me use the turn signals so i had to show him that they work and he said they're too dim. reason for this is because in direct sunlight, the light from the sun fills the housing with reflective light which washes out the light coming from the LEDs, to remedy this hopefully, i tinted the tail ights with vinyl. i think they look great, hopefully they're more visible in sunlight now.

That is very cool , would love something like that on mine.

they turned out way too dark :(, i'm just gonna go ahead and start making clear lenses. anyone got tips on mold release? i'm gonna make a mold out of fiberglass resin and have no idea what to use for mold release, i hear masking tape and some sort of grease might work? would white spray lithium grease be ok?

finally made a clear part of the lens, instead of doing the entire lens which i couldn't figure out how, i just did this, saw it somewhere else on the forums, looked easy enough. once it all dries i'll sand and polish the lens and paint the orange around it black so that it doesn't look so weird. only got one light done cz cutting the orange lens out took a solid hour with my dremel, it's so freaking slow. then the lens i cut didn't match perfectly and had to fill the seams with silicon so hopefully that seals up well cz that would suck real hard, no idea what i would do lol, do not wanna take these apart AGAAIIINNN. that would be like the 5th time now. so yea just ignore how ugly it is right now, it will look better in a couple days.

i'm making another set of lights, probably will be really slow since winter is approaching fast and it's already below freezing at night and it snowed 100 miles north of me. my headlights build should be finishing up though. i'll keep this updated.

I'd like to see some better close up pics! From this one pic, it's looking nice!
Hopefully the black paint lines won't be really thick.

they didn't turn out very well, and didn't seal well either, once i finish the new set of lights, i'll be redoing these, since these are my only working lights right now. i thought of a better way of gluing the lens in next time so hopefully it will turn out much better, or maybe i'll figure out a way to make clear lenses.

SCFactory 10-30-15 05:05 PM

That's pretty tight!

oldManTan 10-31-15 01:28 PM

well looks like my lights are starting to fall apart, started blowing the gauge fuse yesterday everytime i put it in reverse, unplugged the lights, no fuse blown. so something i did with the reverse lights didn't hold up well and is now blowing fuses. i disconnected the reverse lights right now so yea, no more fuses blowing, but no reverse lights. i really need to get started on these new lights, just been so busy lately.
