Welcome and start with a good running 1jzgte is my advice!
there are several very detailed swap threads here, and also na-t threads if you change your mind back.

welcome,

Im assuming youre going to pick up a complete engine set w/trans... if thats the case make sure you get a Soarer 1JZ, it will already be rear sump, and come with the correct r154 transmission to avoid having to do a shifter extension... plan on doing a new timing belt w/ all the accessories and converting to a usdm style waterpump if the 1jz you get has the hydraulic cooling fan. Research and looking at past swaps/builds will be your friend... itll save you headache and money for sure.

sucks to hear youre ditching the na-t idea, but to each is own

you can do what I am doing? I went to the junkyard, bought a 2jzge off a sc300 for 225. just the block and head. took engine apart and now am rebuilding it. want to put gte pistons and rods and ge headgasket, new bearings and then your ready for na-t once you swap in the new to you engine into your car. no trouble or anything.

I would do that but I'd rather 1j swap and skip all that trouble and I don't have anywhere to store the engine

Just do the swap, it should take 24hrs to complete and without a lot of issue.

I always extend a jdm harness 22 inches... a bit long but better than being short and have your ECU hanging behind the AC blower . I know I got away with some using 16-18 inches of wire extensions.
