Default Outside Window trim molding.

My outer window trim has gone bad, the chrome one around my glass, just after peeling my old tints and barely dealing with the residue glue, i saw that both of the clips that keep it snug against the door have rusted and snapped. From the looks of it it snaps out pretty easily but when it reaches closer to the door handle it seems almost impossible to remove unless i take off the door panel. I could not find a write up so could anybody shed a little light?

That is a very common and big problem. New ones, if you can find them are over $900 each! They rust at the rivets and fall off. I am having mine panel bonded back in place. You can't weld them with heat as that would damage the chrome. Body shop is doing it for me.

Yes, this piece has the pillar in black metallic and has the chrome edging trim around the window. Yes, you must remove the door panel to access the screws that hold the chrome moulding in place.
