New to me 1992 SC400
I finally got my mom to give me her 92 SC400! It has been babied since new. It only has 125K, which is pretty low for the year. It has always been a third car for my parents. Less than 100 miles have been put on it in the last year. Always serviced at the dealer. The only negative with the car is worn leather on the driver seat and steering wheel. Other than that, it is near perfect. I actually had asked for her to give me this way back for my 16th birthday, but she instead bought me an IS300 (not complaining). The IS300 is long gone. I currently have a CT200h and GS430. This will be a third car for me, but I plan on driving it often. Not going to modify it or anything b/c my mom does want it back should I get sick of it.

Nice. Must be nice to be given what some consider the best Lexus Coupe made.
I'd keep it, or upgrade to a 98+ if you can find one. The Gated Trans makes a difference.

I initially offered to buy it off her, but my parents don't work that way. I've actually been keeping my eye out for a 98+ SC400 with low miles for my mom. She would probably never drive it if I bought her one, but she absolutely loves the SC400.

True. I got lucky. I don't see ANY 1998+ Sc400's for sale in Illinois.
I'm so glad the guy I bought it from wasn't savvy at selling. My color plus under 100k miles would have been snatched up, if listed properly. Took him 5 months to sell, thanks to me.

Update: I've been driving this thing more than I thought. I got rid of my CT200h and have been using this as my daily. Getting close to 130K now. It's amazing how this thing is more quiet/solid than my CT200h was. I'm in the market for a low mileage GS460, but until the right one pops up, I'll be driving this. I do still have my GS430, but my brother is driving it for the time being.
