Hi,
I recently removed, cleaned and re-installed my IAC.
There is a small thin flexible "disc" in the center of the unit.
It fell out as I took apart the housing. So, I have no way to know if I
put it in "upside down" as it fits either way.

Do you know which way the disc faces? It's NOTcompletely flat, so I imagine it
does make a difference with the contact points.

about 8 images down, there's a picture of the "inside" of the IAC.
The caption reads "This is my spare IAC...." Almost dead center of the picture
you can see half the disc.

Any advice is welcome.

ALSO, you can rotate the unit so the SPRING [near the tip] is more open or more closed.
How do you know when you have the proper setting?

The three wing tips should point up.

I don't think it matters where you rotate the shaft and tip to, but some people have reported a few stumbles upon reassembly -- my guess would be from having the shaft fully extended which starts the car in no IAC bypass mode and being slow to readjust -- so I put mine together with the shaft fully retracted.
