Can any one tell me which sensor this is? Lexus dealership told me the one by the cat on passenger side. Replaced it, still a 28. Love my car, but tired of throwing money at it.
First before we can help we need to know the basics. Year and mileage. Do you have 300 or 400. Also what have you already replaced.
I would say double check the wiring and resistance of the o2 sensor. If it's ok, check the ecu for leaking caps, a google search brang up some guy replaced his ecu.

Sorry. 95 sc400. 262,000 miles. Runs strong, just throws that 28 code. Replaced MAF, that took care of the code 31 I was getting. Plugs, wires caps rotors all new. Water temp sensor is new. Took out and cleaned IAC, although it wasn't really even dirty. New cam shaft positioning sensor. Too many sensors...
that o2 sensor can be found for $60 on ebay of $100 on autozone for the exact same part.
I would say take out your computer and check to make sure there's no sign of bad or leaky capacitors. if there is then send it to get rebuild. maybe driftmotion cause they do it for $60. if there is no sign, then try both upstream 02 sensors. upstream being before the catalytic converters.
another thing I would look for is an exhaust leak. but generally its the o2 sensors not giving different readings throughout different temperatures. that would be my best bet. that's what generally throws codes for sensors.
So the main right o2 is the one coming off the manifold, right? Or to be more specific, it's not the one that comes up through the floorboard and plugs in under the dash/console. And it only throws the code when the engine is good and hot.
