Steering odd play
Okay so this is a problem im trying to pin
I believe the culprit is the cut springs (i bought it this way please don't flame me im trying to track down some old original springs for the time being but having a hard time)
thinking about it as if it were a clock, I can turn the steering wheel from 12 to about 3 even if the car is off with out the keys in the ignition
Second i lifted the front end of the car up and the bushings seemed fine to me, i grabbed onto the bar and attempted to see if it was lose but nope
however while driving ill slowly drift to the left or right until about 3 or 9 then i get control of the steering back again
any ideas on what it could be?

It's the smaller bushings you can't see that are causing the play in the steering. See this thread and get yourself some new bushings:

I just did these this past weekend, replaced my torn OEMs with daizen polyurethane. Night and day difference, just 4 bolts and 3 bushings. It took me under a half hour. Best time I've ever spent. Good luck
