Sc300 rear axle width
Does anyone know the outside hub to outside hub measurement of an sc300 with weight on it, going to be doing a solid axle swap and just trying to get a rough measurement of what I can fit back there. Thanks
another temporary option may be just welding the oem diff and figuring out what axles will bolt to it, i was doing some reading but im not sure what will work, in a 93 sc400 automatic (the diff im running) its a 3.92 ratio(which is what i want) can i run two supra tt driver side axles? from what i read thats what works then i read big vs small differerntial and get confused anyone have info on exactly what axles will bolt to my diff and be stronger than the stock stuff?
if I recall correctly
there was something mentioned on supraforums about using a ford 9" rear end
I believe it might have been done once, but the cost was to high for most people to do it
here is the link to the shop that sells the conversion

all sc300, sc400, n/a supra, and tt supra automatic diff's are externally the same, they are the same size and the same basically with the exception of the final drive gear ratio and you can swap the whole pumpkin out and re-use your axles with all of these. The n/a supra's had an option for LSD and the auto TT supra's came with LSD. the sc300 and 400 and all lexus diff's from that generation are open diffs.
the only diff that is larger is a 6 speed 2jzgte supra diff (LSD), and then you need 1 drivers axle from that car, but some say you can even make the stocker work but you aren't talking about this type of diff there are only 2.
welding your the diff would be easier than doing a solid axle swap mainly because you will have to redo the entire rear suspension if you swap a live axle in there, and believe me the SC suspension is much better unless your only purpose for the car is drag, and at that point if you cannot measure the rear axle width then fabbing up the rest of the axle suspension is going to be tough to do.
so get the right ratio from the 400 the one you want, weld it up, and drop it in, everything should bolt up and if the driveshaft yoke flange is different at the front you can swap that over from your old diff but between sc300 and 400 they should be the same.

Sorry to bring up old thread. Will MK4 Supra/SC300/SC400 rear right axle fit on 1998 Lexus Sc300? Is there any unique fitting for 1998 SC300 rear axle? Something about traction control.
