Yeah man, a properly maintained 400 hauls *** like no ones business!, there's not really a reason to get a 300 like scenforcer said.

Car looks in good shape. Barring a ridiculous amount of miles I say go for it. Get some maintenance done (timing belt, water pump, engine/tranny mounts) and you'll have a solid ride that won't cause you any issues.

yeah, thats exactly what i have planned up, I have a brand new Transmission mount in my sc right now, so ill swap that over, along with my daizen rack bushings too, ill probably do the timing belt too, im itching to get my hands dirty again, let me check if the mount is interchangable real quick.

both part numbers are 1237150030 so yup interchangable :3

Go for the SC400. You're familiar with it already and it's nice stock power and sound. How many miles did it end up having?

Hey guys, I hope you don't mind me chiming in. My Sc400 has the VVTi and I absolutely love it. I've never driven any other SC's before this one, but I couldn't imagine having to settle for less power after being used to this car. My vote is with the others, I hope you go for the 400. Way more power right out of the box, which makes for a much more satisfying daily driver..

I'll ask for the vins when I get my Insurance money! It's been a moth and I still haven't gotten anything
Tbh the power of a 400 is really nothing when trying to move a 3800 pound car..it sounds like the 400 is for you based on the fact you want a 1jz and don't have a time frame specified a the power it has in stock form should suffice. Personally I'd suggest the sc300 a you have a 2j which is made for boost.

Im 19 paying for college and working a job that pays 480 every two weeks, I go to school and work and don't have time to even chill with my friends, it's not the right time to build a motor yet nor am I fully capable ATM too. I'm ok no rush, I have the rest of my life ahead of me still to build a 1j/2j car for now I just want a clean daily I can lower, throw wheels on and slide on occasion again,

No point in a 98+ 300. But a 98+ 400 yes for sure.

Well sir, sc400 it is. Sounds like the 400 will fit your needs. Also, not to be a ****, but on that budget I suggest making absolutely sure all the maintenance is up to par and you buy the cleanest, most documented example you can. Even if this means passing more. A rough SC may seem like a good deal at the time, but when things break and set a snowball effect in motion, which will wreak havoc on your funds. Especially not being the diy type.

Have patience and buy a nice SC...best of luck to you. Hope to see you around as the owner of an sc400
