Question

Somebody responded in a post (that I cannot find and the search cannot find) that the 250hp SC400 dyno's at 178-180rwhp. Anyone with valid info please comment. Thanks

Cool Dyno's arent that accurate...

Dyno's arent that accutate when measuring hp in real life conditions. On a dyno I only recorded 155kw at the rear treads, whilst on the road at nite I got up to 180kw at the rear wheels (measured with a Gtech). Here's the dyno graph if you still want to see it.

Toan, thanks. I understand that chassis dyno's aren't the final word on power. I do feel that your dyno number is more accurate than your GTech number. I converted your 155kw to hp and got 208hp. US spec 94-97 SC400s are rated at 250hp. 208rwhp would be VERY realistic for such an output. 180kw is 241 and unless yours is modified or is rated at more than 250 engine hp I would have to say you are seeing a spike reading vs a steady power reading. For conversions go here http://www.onlineconversion.com/power.htm

Toan, cool, who did the conversion? Is it an automatic or clutch car? What are your future plans? Doesn't Australia get the 2.5TT Soarer? Curious as to why you would go to the expense of conversion.

Default Yeah.. It's a Soarer

Yeah... sorry.. It's a Soarer 2.5 TT Auto. I read so many forums that refer to the Soarer as an SC400 and that That I got mixed up and forgot this is mainly a US forum. It's nearly as stock as a bone... Only 3" exhaust and higher boost applied. I'm doing the 0-100km/h in about 6 sec flat average. with an ET of 14 flat. This is pretty much stock tho, and in an auto 4 speed. Overdrive off, but power mode on, and suspension/steering set to race mode (Dont think SC400's in the US have active suspension/steering settings??)

Cheers

Toan.
