Double clutch?
Double clutching is for non-synchronized crash boxes. Most Lexus don't have those. Poke your head under a Peterbuilt or a Kenworth and you will probably see a transmission that benefits from the double clutching thing
No point in double clutching in modern cars.
But rev matching on downshifts when you're driving aggressively or when the RPMs are high will definitely help.
And it is possible to change gears without the clutch. It's l about timing, and that window is small. You'll learn this when your clutch is dead.

I didn't know about the changing gears without the clutch was even possible. I figured it mess stuff up if I tried it.
lol @ danger to manifold that is such a classic. I think I want a "Warning: danger to manifold" sign on my actual manifold now.
Kira you can mess up stuff shifting without the clutch, but it is possible and something you learn real quick if your master, slave, or any clutch issues comes up while you are in gear cruising already moving... at least to get you to somewhere safe to pull over. you have to rev match and still be on the pedal to get it in the next gear and this is where most people grind alot, but to just pop it out of the gear and come to a stop doesn't usually grind I start by pressing on the accelerator some and holding, and then I suddenly lift off the accelerator, and right when the car starts to rock from letting go of the gas, if you have a finger or 2 amount of pressure on the shifter towards neutral it will just pop right out of gear into neutral.

lol not only did the floor board come off, the rivets were basically exploding, as if they were bearing the load of the rpm's somehow lmao
Yeah you can shift without clutching just like TheAzn said, I learned this when my clutch in my old 240 went bye bye lol
If you put pressure on the shifter, at a certain RPM you'll feel it'll have more freedom and then it'll be able to slide into the next gear. Another trick with a burnt clutch, if you're wondering how to move from a stop, just start the car in 1st everytime lol
