Hello I was wondering what would be better 2 15's or 12's. I am planning of flush mounting the woofers in a sealed enclosure, taking out the spare tire. . But i just wanted to get peoples opinion on what would u do.
I currently have 1 punch 1000dba1 1000w@2ohms or 500w@4ohms which i plan to use to power the subs. Now i am faced with the delima of choosing 2 15" ecplise Aluminum single voice coil or 2 12" Eclipse Dual voice ALum. What is better 2 or 4 ohms setup for my 1 channel Amp. I have choosen eclipse because from reading news boards that it's the most accurate 15 out there. ALso if I do run 2 15's SVC @ a 2 ohm load will this be a safe? Will trunk have enough room? Any suggestions??

i have two image dynamics idq12dvc subs in my car, and they sound GREAT. they are wired to down to 1 ohm. for an SC, the trunk doesnt have much airspace to begin with... and IDQs work great with small areas... i HIGHLY recommend them. the eclipse subs are badass also... not only do they look cool they sound great too... i'd go with two 12s.

Lumping speakers into 12" or 15" groups isn't really very effective to determine what you need.
You need to take into consideration exactly how much airspace you are dealing with, what type of music you will listen to, what volume you will listen at, and even what the finished enclosure will look like cosmetically. You really need to assess all of your variables and work backwards to figure out what speaker will work best for you.

I went ahead and ordered 2 eclipse 15's. The guy at the shop plans on laying down fiber glass where the spare tire is located. Soon as I get it done I will post pics.
