Automatic or Manual
only 5% of all the sc300's manufactured from 1992-1997 came with a manual - the manual was discontinued after 97. these cars are in high demand because they are RARE - occassionally youll see one on ebay or in the club lexus marketplace, but i stress that its no walk in the park to find one. by 'decent mileage' im going to assume you mean under 100,000, so for a 92-93 in good condition (depending on options) you should be looking at about $7,000-$10,000 range. the exact price also depends on where you live and if you buy from a private party or a retail dealer.
I just picked up a 93 SC300-MT. Man oh man! I don't understand how Lexus didn't make this option more available. The MT is what puts the Sports in Sports Coupe.
Mine has quite abit of mileage ... 138k. But the engine is in emaculate condition. Not a scratch in the paint ... and believe it or not, it still has that "new car smell". ha, ha.
My only complaint is the CD-changer sucks. Can't read CD-Rs and skips like crazy. I'll change that soon.
I paid $6900 for it. Not too shabby. I'm sure I can get the car to last another 60K miles over the next three years, and then I'll unload it.
But if you can get your hands on an MT, definitely do it. It turns driving into DRIVING!!!
