Quick question, does anybody know why my gauge cluster light for "D" or Drive only lights up when the engine is at normal operating temp? Only thing I did to it, was change the bulb to LED 3 years ago, but it wasn't like this before. The LED seems fine, it doesn't flicker or die out once it lights up. Weird.
Just not sure if its a sign for a problem; like how the O/D light blinks for tranny solenoid and how the A/C light blinks when it needs a recharge.
My rx300 does that with the normal bulb that's in there I just figured the bulb was old and on its way out because the car spends most of its time in D when running so it gets used the most. all the other bulbs work perfect.
Shouldn't be a sign of any issues other than a bad bulb, connection issue (probably at the bulb), or gear selector sensor. It seems like the first two items are most likely the issue.

Ok, I forgot to add, I did swap the dildomatic shifter to gated shifter, and as far as I can remember this is when it started doing that. I'll check my wirings again and the mechanical aspect of it to make sure. But like I said in the OP, it couldn't be the bulbs, I've been observing it really closely ever since I noticed it happen. And as soon as the temp needle hit the normal operating temp, the LED bulb blinks itself to life and doesn't flicker or blink at all even after hours of driving. Just double checking with y'all to get ahead of it if it is a sign for future problems. I hope not. Thanks for the help CL.
