If I was gonna do a th400, I would do a B&M ratchet shifter. They look sick and work awesome.
Here is a picture of the alternator mounted on the motor still a little high but at least it clears the throttle body now... we will see if it clears the hood prolly saturday or sunday

Tuning in. I'm also attempting the 5.3 swap. Looking good so far, hopefully we can collaborate on here a little bit.
I wanted to use the truck accessories too, but they are humongous aren't they? Let me know if the alternator fits the sc at that location. I tested the truck intake manifold in my sc400 and there's absolutely no way--without a custom cross member lol.

Yeah luckily I got the ls1 intake with the motor but I'll definitely let you know how it fits it should work tho even if I have to make another offset plate to lower it more this one lowered the stock bracket down 3/4 of an inch and moved it to the right 1.5 inches so it would clear the throttle body but with this plate i had to grind 1/8inch off the back of the stock bracket to get the pullies to line upOriginally Posted by SC399

Well I finally decided it was time to take the Lexus out of commission it was a little bit more of a headache then I had planned but in the process we came up with some ideas on stuff like keeping the factory shifter with the th400 and maybe fabbing up a tubular cross member that will get rid of the one closest to the firewall and give me plenty if room for the f-body oil pan

F-body oil pan will fit with the stock crossmember with a minor trim, no need to fab anything up.
Yeah I know it is just something I wanted to do we are doing all tubular arms for the suspension also
Looking good bro! Great job with that wrinkle intake-I vote no on the Lexus emblem...just my 2 cents tho.

Yeah I decided against it I tried just setting it there and it just doesn't look right lol

Look very closely at where my EGR should be: (Lexus emblem on the block off)
