Looks like you have a few bubbles. Suggest you let the heavy coat of brushed varnish dry really well (maybe two or three days) and then lightly sand those spots away. Then a buff with steel wool or very fine 2000 or 3000 sandpaper lightly. They do a final coat by spraying. Several light coats generally works better than heavy coats.

I was really hoping that the bubbles would work their way out as drying.Oh, well, this is a learning process and I'll take the advice on getting them out.

All right. The bubble issue has become a major problem!! I know using a brush is rookie but I can't believe that I can't put on any more coats without bubbles forming all over, bubbles that dry there no less! I've tried cleaning the brush, soaking the brush over night in the finish, thick coats, thin coats, brushing in every possible way but after that first coat goes on, every following coat is filled with bubbles. I'm blaming the brush and getting a different, expensive one tomorrow, after I resand down all the pieces again of course! Damn It!!

FORGET THE BRUSH! Just spray it from a can and you won't have any more bubble problems. Simple solution.

I think I licked it with the new brush, but if I do run into anymore bubbles, I'll try that (alone so no one see me doing it) and post the results.

Problem with the website. Can't upload pics at this time. Will try again later.

Thanks for this thread. I replaced my door wood trim pieces with nice ones from some spare door panels, but that just highlights how cloudy the dash ones are! I'll be installing a less cracked center vent piece next week, so that'll be a good time to remove the dash wood trim and try sprucing it up a bit. This thread has provided several good suggestions for how to go about that.

Default Brush

Ignore my posts about using a brush and just go with the spray can.
