Default updating ECU

In 95-96, the sc had 260 hp as compared to 240 the previous years. Does anyone here know anything about switching the ECU's from a 95, or 96 to a 92? This would add the 20hp, because everything's the same in these cars except the ECU right? I'm pretty sure on this, so if anyone knows anything, I'm thinking with a 95 ECU and a piggy back unit, i could add upwards of 40hp just through the computer. Any thoughts?

Typically when they go to the trouble of redoing the ECU, they also make the input sensors and other ECU related doo-dads (technical term) better.

The whole reason for this particular redesign was to make the car OBDII compliant, so that means there's an extra diagnostic connector, and two extra oxygen sensors at the very least . That means the harness is going to be different....which means it ain't gonna be plug and play.

92-95 had 250hp
96-97 had 260hp
98-00 had 290hp

it would not be possible to swap in a '96-'97 ECU into the 92-95 model years due to the inclusion of OBDII

slap on a S-AFC, tune it and you will get a little extra HP.
