Question Painted 2JZ-GE Valve Covers?

Has anyone painted their 2jz-ge valve covers in their SC300 cars? If you have, please share some examples of your work. I'm thinking of painting mine, but not sure on the color yet, hence the question .

Check my sig or my blog, I painted mine metallic gunmetal.
They chip easy because I was lazy and didnt put any primer, or even sanded down the original color lol.
I gotta redo them when its nice out.

If you wanna see some real nice examples, those dudes over at my.is do a great job with theirs.

speaking of valve covers, I wonder if you could put the lexus 2JZ valve covers on a GTE swap, maybe it would trick the smog techs :P it would look classier though.

I know someone with a 2JZGE that put GTE valve covers on. He had to convert his manifold to do this though..

I painted mine black first but was in the same boat as Candela. I did sand first but they still chipped easy. Then I polished them and they looked great till a few weeks later. Not sure why but they look almost like before I did anything to them. Could be the metal. It don't seem like regular aluminum if that's what they even are lol. I know you have to re-polish once in a while but they just don't re-polish the same as other aluminum does. If you paint them get them powder coated. You wont have to re do them all the time.

There are some on the site already if you search. Here is a link to some red ones http://https://www.clublexus.com/for...overs-pic.html

Here are mine right after polishing. Wish I had a better picture of them.
