2JZ SC300 Rebuild
Small update:
Got the upper oil pan installed today, with Toyota sealant and all torqued down. Talked with the good people of T1, and I will be ordering my ID2000 injectors and getting my custom catch can from them. The catch can will have the 2 lines from the valve cover, and one line going to the turbo intake pipe. The catch can will cost around $200. I will get my own lines from some Air Force people, as we can get that for free. That's much better than the $800 from Powerhouse Racing, and $300-400 from Sound Performance. Can't wait!
Just an idea for you guys. It will not have the filter on it, since there will be a line going to the turbo.

More updates:
Got the lower oil pan, oil girdle, and oil pickup installed. Then installed the water pump today, and noticed I need to replace 2 o-rings for that. So I will have to go and order those tomorrow. Also ordered a new oil pressure sensor, and 6 BKR8EIX spark plugs. JDL autoworks also said they will start the catch can on friday, so I will pay them a combined amount for the injectors and can. Progress...

Update:
Did some more work on the engine. Got the water pump installed, cam gears, timing belt tensioner, and belt installed. I was a little nervous with the timing belt at first, since it doesn't have the timing marks on it. But after checking the engine manual, it seemed easy so I gave it a try. Looks to be in the proper position.
Also, I didn't know I had a badass timing belt tensioner already. When I was cleaning it up, I felt it looked too shiny. After doing some research, it is the Boost Logic Billet timing belt tensioner. I am happy. The spark plugs will be here today, so I will gap and install those and the oil pressure sensor.

The crank pulley bolt can't be installed with the giant washer it comes with. Looks like I will have to dremel it off, or find one without the washer on it. Also need to find a socket that fits around the oil pressure sensor so I can torque it properly.

Got some goods in today. The ID2000 injectors, and the JDL custom catch can. I was not impressed by the lack of polish on the catch can. However the welds look great, and it definitely worth the money I paid for it. So I polished it up, and it is looking much better now. I will have to make the lines for the can later on. I also ordered a new OEM fan shroud, lower shroud, and a replacement chrome center cap for the Supra wheels.
Going to work on the motor some more today, and see if I can finish it, so it is ready to install.

Just cleaned up the alternator. Installed the upper timing belt cover, threw the distributor on loosely. Next will have to install the power steering pump and possibly the a/c compressor. Then try to put the new accessory belt on, put the engine on the engine hoist and then put the clutch on and transmission.

Update, kinda:
Yesterday I went to install the rear main seal, and couldn't find the bolts... even though I bagged and tagged everything. Oh well. I ordered new ones, as well as the nuts for the exhaust manifold since those have taken some heat and looked rusty.
I also put the catch can in place, and it looks at home. So clean. Then after closer inspection of the clutch, I feel it would be best to replace it now. But the setup I want will cost $2500. RPS Carbon/Carbon strapless twin disk clutch with 29lb chromoly flywheel. We will see, unless I decide to order another Spec clutch and run with that. The fan shroud will be here Monday, and the bolts sometime next week.
