I wouldn't replace the tires yet ! because your trans will only last a couple miles before it takes a dump on the sticky tires.
Atleast now you are not putting all the power to the ground and those tires are saving your trans!
I would start saving for an r154.
Great power by the way for 17 psi, mine made 522whp at 17 on e85 with on stock 10.1 cr.
Lol. I'm going easy on the trans at the moment. I got an r154 sitting at home but it needs to be rebuilt. I plan to send it to marlin crawler come tax return time.
If not , don't even waste your money rebuilding it if it not broken! i have a bone stock r154 with 81k miles it held 701whp daily driving for 9k miles not a single issue.
There are couple guys running them on the mk3s making 800+whp in the stock form.
There is alot of rumors going around about the marlin crawler trans hold 1000whp , it's not true ! I called them and the guys told me that they didn't test the trans themselves ..it was a feedback they got form a custumer.
He said they rate it for 800whp.
You have a badass setup ! now fix the trans and turn it up to 19 lol
Yea I picked it up for $200 because it had a bad thrust washer. I figured a full rebuild by a reputable shop will keep my mind at ease. Then I will aim for a little more.
I would also look at the suspension setup to include the sway bar links, bushings (upper and lower) ,and the type of tires. All of the suspension including having good tires will greatly reduce your tire spin. My car has all the above done and it will not spin even at 21 psi of boost. It puts it to the ground. I made the same number at 16-17 psi.. those are great numbers btw!!
we have nearly identical whp and i'm also still running the w58 and stock open diff...i only have bad wheel spin when the roads are cold but i have been driving the crap out of it for over 2.5 years, only had to replaced the clutch/pressure plate twice lol.

Ive actually been thinking of your set up. Was wondering how it was holding up. Funny that you chimed in.
So driving my car today I barley had any wheel spin. Roads were a little wet yesterday but I can't believe the difference. Even on my firrest tune at 350whp I had more spin.
I guess I don't need better tires and lsd just yet. I will work on my rest suspension since my front is done. Get some battle version stuff.
SOLID300 you def have a nice setup thats for sure! You on stock HG?
I have cometic 2mm on 1.1bar @ only 422 whp... Sounds like I need to turn up the boost.
Anyone know about how much more it will take to make roughly 500-550 whp?
He is on stock TT headgasket.
That 2mm doesn't work great , you will end up with detonating, same goes with the BL 2.5mm they are junk.
TT hg works great on na-t and gte, I had the hks 2mm 4years and i had alot of detonation problem...took that crap off and tried the tt hg never looked back since then.
With those 2mm hg or 2.5mm you will have to turn the boost up to make power , car feels slow of boost.
Casey,
Pm me i will share some stuff with you!
Op please post your sheet if you don't mind i wanna compare something please!
You should be fine with just a new set of tires. I had a small single set up on a NA supra and it made 480whp and I never had any problems with the w58 or the open diff in terms of traction.
Nice set up I'm new to the SC world, but I'm slowly learning and taking notes. Great horsepower for 17psi. A friend of mine took me for a ride in his 1jz which was making 470 whp on 19 psi. I think he had a T62. I'm not ashamed to admit it was the Fastest car I've ever been in - everything outside the windows was just a blurr Have fun with that!
