Default Tinted Windshield?

I got a free tint coming my way from a friend.

He was telling me he wants to tint the front window (the windshield) 50%. the sides and back 5% limo. Anyone ever tinted their windshield?

What's it like for night driving, etc..... This is my daily driver.

I wouldn't. Does the state allow it? I know that the state of Nevada probably won't accept 5% tinting on the drivers side. You'll get a ticket.

Psshh ticket, shmicket.. Its def illegal to have the tint lower than the little black notch on your windshield but it looks so good! BUT I will agree 5% all around AND tinted windshield will make things hard to see at night. Had the exact same 50% on my last car, awesome stuff. Anyone driving towards you can only see your knuckles on the wheel.

I don't know about you, but I prefer to keep my 70 bucks to see at night.

in lv i used to know a few few people who had it, find someone and take a look before you put it on

Im not a fan of the tinted windshield for night driving purposes, ive seen alot of people with it run over medians and islands etc.

I am a fan of ceramic tint (long as its not wavy ) Almost clear to sight but filters out uv efficiently

I was thinking it would look pretty cool, I just dunno about the night driving.

I took care of some computer stuff for my friend's shop, so he offered to tint and wrap my car for free

I have 50% tint on front windshield, 35% on the sides and rear. I have no trouble seeing at night. 50% isn't much but in conjunction with 5% sides, it may be a little dark.

On both my SC and LS430 I have the front windshield tinted at 35%. The tint isn't that noticeable at night to be honest. You will be fine at 50%. Make sure you have HID's as well.

It also keeps a good amount of heat out of the car as well.

it would be wiser to tint the windshield in a clear heat blocking tint like 3m, huper optik, or llumar, unless you want to not see anything at night. most junk dark tints dont block heat whatsoever.

Dr. Tweak has 35% windshield, 20% front doors/sunroof, and 5% rear doors/rear glass on his IS-F, and you can't even tell the windshield is tinted (from the inside). It was professionally done at a local tinting/wheel/stereo place with very high quality tint.

As for the ticket/citations...You can go to your optometrist and get a note from them saying that your eyes are sensitive to light, and you'll just have to show that to the officer if you ever get pulled over for it. (well, that's the way it works here in South Carolina anyway haha)

I have 50% on my wind shield and 20% on the rest, and have had it on all of my cars for the last few years. It's not a huge difference at night.

Both the % and front tint are illegal in TN, I have a state issued medical exemption but I've never had to show it or had questions about front tint

I had my front tinted when I had my Evo, its not too bad at night and it keeps your car cool out here. But I did get a ticket from highway..
