Hi all,

I've got a Toyota Soarer 4.0 GT over here in the UK.
As most of you will know it's pretty close in spec to your Lexus SC400.

My mods so far - 17" Supra TT alloys.
Next - Supra TT 4-pot brakes.
Then - Shocks & springs - and this is where I need some help....

As mine is the 'base' JDM version it has straight springs/shocks - no TEMS, air or 'Active' unlike most of the imports in the UK.

I'm after an inexpensive setup that is firmer than normal but not as hard as my previous car (the current model Celica).

After searching the forums what I've come up with is:
Supra Eibachs springs (lower and firmer $220)
Supra rear shocks (price & spring shoulder 2@$40)
SC400 front shocks (price 2@$45)

Anyone got any thoughts on this setup?

I'll be over in Orlando in January so I'll be picking up my selection then.

Kevin, this sounds like a very cost effective setup. The Eibachs for the Supra will be slightly stiffer than the ones for the SC. The best reason for going with the Supra springs is so you can use the KYB AGX gas adjustable shocks (but that blows your "inexpensive" aspect).

You would probably be fine just going with the SC Eibachs and the stock SC shocks. I think several people have reported very satisfactory experiences with this setup. Then if you want to tighten it up for turns, go with a bigger sway bar so that you won't adversely affect the ride quality.

I used some stock TT stuff on my SC:springs/shocks/rear bar,works very nice,lowers the car only 1/2".
No funky ride from messed up control arm geometry either,whole setup cost $240.
