milky headlights
i have noticed that about alot of the Lexus's on here, i would say that the only option is to get new lenses/headlamps.....or if u are going to get new ones anyway, crack those bad boys open and paint the housings, you got nothing to lose at that point
First of all, do a search on headlight or headlamp cleaning. This is a common prolem... you'll get all the information you could ever want on cleaning headlights but, basically, you have 2 choices..... remove the headlamp assembley, take it apart (no small fete, involves heating it up) and there are various methods for cleaning and polishing the lense once you get it apart or........ remove the headlamp assembly, partially fill it with a combination of auto dishwashing detergent and "Jet dry" or your choice of dishwasher rinse agent, agitate the whole thing, like you would a can of spray paint, for several minutes. I used this method and it worked really well.... anyway, do a search and you'll get detailed instrutions. Pay extra attention to comments about not scratching your paint while sliding the assembly out and being careful with the little rubber breathing tubes on the back of the assembly..... on older models, mine is a 93, these tubes are very brittle.
total cost is like 8 dollars. go buy a pack of 2000 grit sand paper. fill a bowl up with water and dish washer soap and soak the sand paper in the water for 30 sec and sand down entire headlight. then go to pepboys and buy a bottle of blue magic plexiglasscleaner and scratch remover
I used Green Turtle Wax for my headlights...Before I used it they were getting kinda yellow but now they are nice and shiny...you might want to try that since its less time costly and inexpensive..
