Hey fellas I see on ebay couple of GS's diffs that are 4.08. I currently have the 4.27 stock diff with the w58 and gearing is way to high. What years are drop in and go?

From what I have been told most older LS, GS300, GS400, GS430, SC400, and SC430 Diff are direct swap... You may have to swap the companion flange but thats it.

What is your set up? and what kind of driving do you do? Highway pulls? Street? Strip??

None of the GS came with 4.08, only the 5speed SC came with 4.08.

The older gs300 came with 4.27 , the 2gen GS 300 3.92 and 3.26 for 98-200 GS400 and 2001-2005 GS430.

Glad I'm getting this cleared up. My setup will be 1jz stock twins on the w58. I personally hated the NA 2jz with the w58 and the 4.27 and I know with the 1j in it'll probably suck even more

Try the stock sc400 rear 3.92 that will work a whole lot better for you than the 4.08 or the 4.27 . You fell like you run out of gear really fast lol.

There is thread about this when i was 1jzgte with w58 4-5 years ago.

I actually went from 4.27 to 3.26 when i was 1jzgte with stock twins because my friend Slow_sc3 was running one on his car but he was single turbo, then i decided to try it.

If you wanna buy one just put a WTB Thread in the Classifieds.

^^^ It really depends on what you like , people will have different inputs. stock twins spools at idle lol so for me it's really not sluggish.

We all have different driving habbits, it maybe sluggish for you and i might actually love it! I just love the R154 with 3.26 .
With 315/30r18 in the back My car doesn't hook in 1 ,2 ,3rd only at 5k rpm 4th is long as hell it takes forever to hit the rev limiter which is at 7700 rpm.
1st -3rd it just blows the tires till the tires warn up.

shorter gears puts alot of stress on your parts specially if you are single turbo and making decent power..and am tired of breaking stuff .

It's very frustrating to replace parts on your car everyday/ every other day , clutch, clutch and clutch and axle not fun.
