Wide body wheel fitment?
Ok. I've done some research and he med the forums and cannot find a straight answer.
I have a 92 Lexus sc300 with a wide body kit. Like the generic brand of vertex. Anyway I just got body work and a brand new paint job but have one problem... I have 17' rims under this bad boy and it looks scrony! It tucks into the wheel well and I just hate it. I want to put 20' xxr deep dish rims on my car but am not sure how it will fit. I need pictures, specs, and info of anyone who has a wide body and has experienced this issue. Here are a list of main issues and rim specs that I want
Rim specs: xxr 526. 20x11 width. 5.25 lip (rear). The only 20' they make for the front is a 20x9 witch seems way to big of a gap to from front to back. But I don't think 20x11 will fit all the way around the car.
Will the rims rub?
Do I need camber?
I want to stretch tires to the rim and tuck in the wheel well but am afraid of rub?
Please help?!?

You only worry about rubbing if you're low. If you're too low then raise it up a bit, simple as that. If you pulled out the fenders for a wide body then you shouldn't worry about camber unless you have super wide wheels. Stretched tires, camber and fender work are all steps for the sake of fitting the wheel in that order from minor to major adjustments. And I don't think you should go with XXR's, they're pretty cheap quality.

I would take some measurements with your wheels/tires now. Take note of the wheels/tires you have on it, so Size, width, and offset and also the tire size. Now measure how much distance you have from the edge of the wheel to the fender lip, as well as the inside of the wheel to the chassis. Now lets say you have 17x8 +30 for example, and you find that you have and extra 2inches or 50mm(roughly) of gap between the wheel and the fender, that means that you could run a 20x10 +5 as a 10inch wide wheel would take up 1inch on each side(25mm) and the +5 offset would take up the extra 25mm(1inch) or you could run a 20x11 +18 or right around there and get the same fitment. But you also need to make sure you will not hit the strut or anything on the chassis. Does that make sense? It's not super tough, but does take some time for measurements and some basic math to figure it out.
Tires are a bit more tricky, while they are measure in mm's one brands 275 may not be the same width as another brands 275.
I have yet to fully wake up this morning, so if any of this is wrong, please feel free to correct me lol
Thanks,
Rick
