Block heater for winter required?
I moved from Vancouver B.C to Calgary this year, and the winter are a lot colder here. I finally drove my car down here (sc400) and was wondering if it's a good idea to invest in a block heater during winter?
My car always gets synthetic oil when I do a oil change.
My car will also be parked outside because we don't have underground parking where we living in.
To add, what else should I do to keep my car to keep it in good running condition during winter?
Thanks
Jay

I would suggest for starters to at least get an auto start for it. That way the car can at least somewhat properly warm up before you drive it on those -40 days lol. Installing block heaters on some older engines can be a pain (leaks and stuff) but they do work well. Summer time too you can turn on the A/C and cool it off inside before you get in!
Thanks for the input guys.
Another question, do you think It's a good idea do drive my car up a mountain with decent snow tires? I'm planning on using my car to drive up the mountain this season for skiing.

Our SCs have never been known to do well in low traction areas I mean with an open differential it's a little rough in any sort of weather. But I've never had snow tires on my car so if you think you can handle it, go for it
Since you're from Van, I'm sure you'll do alright. And how are you getting your skis/snowboard in there? It's got to be a tight fit if you don't have a roof rack haha.
I really wish that huge gas tank wasn't in the way between the trunk and passenger compartment ._____.
