My 1994 SC 400 cranks for several seconds before starting the first time each day. Once the engine is hot or the car has been sitting in the sun for a while it cranks for maybe 10 seconds or so before starting. This seems excessive to me. Does anyone have any good ideas why? The car only has 14,000 miles on it, so it should be in good shape everywhere.

Check out the battery condition. Possible fuel pump becoming weak.
