Default Mech Tech

I spoke with Jim McFarland of Mech Tech. He says he has twin turboed 2 SC400. It has been widely known that he has a kit that he is selling for $16,000. This is what he has told me

10 people firm commitment will bring the price down to $9000.
4 people firm commitment will bring the price down to $12000.
above prices are not including installation.

He does not have a kit. The notion that he has a kit is mistaken.
16K price is one-off system including parts and labor.

Doesn't sound too outrageous anymore...

I asked him if he wants to sell just the manifold but he had them custom made also so does not have a template.

I know few others have supercharger/turbo in the works... how many kittable projects are going on now?

Area51 and who else?

yes 98RWHP gain...
but he has not tuned neither one of the vehicles he installed these kits. I'm sure with proper tuning you will be able to get much more out of them... I don't know how the cars went out of the shop without tuning but thats what I was told...

yeah, I have the magazine around here somewhere......

they ran the TT set-up on the stock ECU??

I would like a set-up in a 'kit form'. I dont like the idea of someone tinkering with my ECU or having to leave my car in Cali.

I gotta find that magazine......BRB...............

i didn't get all the details but he said he didn't tune it so I'm assuming that it was stock ECU. I have no further information.
